Scope:
KZF Design planned and designed a new corporate office for E. W. Scripps that conveyed a unique image, utilized less space and stayed within a limited budget.
Project description:
When E. W. Scripps, a national media corporation, came to KZF, the company’s headquarters were located in more than 100,000 square feet. To reduce the amount of office space needed, KZF’s programmers and space planners worked with Scripps' management to reduce the number and size of private offices. Based on these decisions, KZF calculated the space requirements and worked with executives to evaluate various furniture systems, created mock-ups and assisted Scripps in the selection process. These components were then tested in sites at three potential buildings. E. W. Scripps chose to locate its new corporate headquarters in a 73,000-square-foot space in an office tower in downtown Cincinnati.
The new headquarters includes a public lobby, executive offices, open offices, a boardroom, dining room and other support spaces. A grand staircase connects all three floors of office space.
