Scope:
KZF’s involvement in this 30-acre highway project was part of a $1 billion transformation of the Ohio Riverfront.

Project description:
As the primary subcontractor for the reconfiguration of Fort Washington Way, KZF Design was responsible for the management of the urban design and associated architectural and engineering services. This project on an urban segment of I-71 along the edge of downtown Cincinnati is part of a $1 billion transformation of the Ohio Riverfront.

The overall design effort of this unique project was driven by urban design through a series of consensus-building charrettes.

Associated urban design team members were Chan Krieger & Associates and Hargreaves Associates. Parsons Brinckerhoff was overall program manager and prime consultant for the Fort Washington Way reconfiguration.

In addition, KZF provided construction documents for the reconstruction and widening of .75 miles of Third Street, adjacent to Fort Washington Way. The project required a new profile, storm water system, street lighting system, special sign support foundation design, brick paver crosswalks, landscaping, pavement marking plans and special approach slab details.
