Project description:
Dr. Alar's 2,660 square foot medical office building is part of a condominium office development located in the Sand Lake Medical Office Park. The Owner, Dr. Alar, expressed the desire for his building to be warm and inviting, with a residential feel.
The exterior concept is inspired by Spanish revival architecture, with its clay tile roof, warm colored stucco finish and stone base that anchors the building to the ground. A series of arches seemingly supported by Tuscan style columns clearly identify the main entry.
Upon entering the building, a barrel-vault ceiling with indirect lighting creates an axis, which leads to the semi-circular reception desk. Dr. Alar requested that the reception desk be the focal point of the interior of the building. Covered with cherry wood veneer and a granite transaction counter, the desk makes a subdued statement of warmth and timeless elegance. The generous fenestration combined with 10' ceilings give the waiting room an open feel, much desired by Dr. Alar.
