Scope:
KZF served as the architect and engineer for this important campus building which won the 1999 American Institute of Architects/Cincinnati Honor Award.

Project description:
Located on a corner of the main quadrangle of Miami University’s Middletown campus, Levey Hall integrates with both its natural and its collegiate surroundings. Built into a hillside adjacent to a wooded ravine that runs at a 30-degree angle from the quad geometry, the building engages both the ravine and the quad.

The 39,000-square-foot facility houses eight classrooms/laboratories fully equipped with connections for computer networking. The building also includes a 100-seat lecture hall, prep areas, multimedia seminar rooms, faculty offices, botany greenhouses and the headquarters for the National Center for Chemistry Education.

KZF was the architect and engineer for this award-winning structure which builds on the existing campus language of brick and glass.
